Plastic earth
A story of a local school and their plastic projects
In North Sulawesi the people are poor and the local school was in a miserable state: hardly any furniture, an asbestos roof, lack of teaching materials und unpaid teachers.
Simone, a PADI Course Director, built a community center a, a small clinic and a school in cooperation with the Kehidupan Anda Foundation.
This Foundation has made it possible that children up to the age of 17 can go to school – and get a chance at a job in the tourism sector after their education.
I visited the school, gave some lectures about how to quit smoking.
The teachers and the students are involved in sustainable projects and what they do for the environment is impressive. The collected plastics are cleaned and used for building furniture  and making dresses.
My little plastic earth ball went from hand to hand: "save our precious earth from plastic”.
Enjoy the pictures of the children and please donate some money to support the school and their projects.
